Hogwarts classes have begun and it's time to get on with the story - This week we're reading The Midnight Duel and Hallowe'en!

As Harry settles in to Hogwarts, his animosity towards Draco Malfoy grows. During his first flying lesson, Harry discovers his natural skill with surprising results. Malfoy's taunting reaches a peak and the boys set out for a Midnight Duel only to be faced with a much greater challenge.

As Halloween approaches, Harry learns more about Quidditch and faces his first real test as he attempts to save the life of Hermione Granger.

Challenging someone to a duel and then not showing up ( the whole time planning on having them caught and expelled ) is downright DIRTY!!! No wonder we learn to hate Malfoy right from the get go.

actually, we hated Draco when Harry meets him in Madam Malkins robe shop. He didn't like Muggleborns. We also didn't like him when he wanted to show Harry who the right families were.

This is the last section that we see Hermione as just a know-it-all goody-two-shoes. Since I was introduced to the series via the first movie, I really wish that the Midnight Duel had been included because it is something that I'm pretty sure everyone, who read the book first, saw coming since it fits Draco perfectly.

Oh Draco. He is such a pansy sometimes. I wonder who would have won if they had actually dueled. They probably only knew 3 spells at the time. Rictusempera, Lumos and Winggardium Leviosa. They would have tickled eachother to death while blinding eachother with light.

Actually I don't think they would have known Leviosa since that isn't learnt until Hallowe'en which is the next chapter, but it would have been fun to watch. If it came down to the Seconds, Harry would have definitely won, since Draco's was Crabbe.

I actually don't think that Harry would have won if it came to the seconds. Crabbe would propably just have thrown away his wand and do some muggle fighting with Ron, wich Crabbe would have won.
