I really enjoyed the episode! I had been falling behind in listening to Alohomora, but I finally caught up and had a great time. I love how you guys notice the little things in the book and analyze it in depth. As for the book covers, I'm partial to the US covers just because they're the ones I grew up with, but I like the UK signature editions as well.

Great episode! Now that we are through one book, I think this might be a good opportunity to add something I'd like to see more of. I think in the first episode you had two things I really enjoyed. One, you looked closely at what pottermore had to add at that stage of the book (McGonagall), and you had a close read section where we analyzed a selected portion of text and analyzed the voice, mood, meaning, etc of that excerpt. Keep up the great work guys!!!

Thanks for that feedback StoneShiled128 - that's definitely something we can do!

You guys continue to mention chocolate frogs in a way that suggests they can move. Although this would be very cool, this was something that was added to the Philosopher's Stone film and is not mentioned and is probably not true in the books.

Hi guys this doesnt really have anything to do with your recent podcast, but i was reading the philosopher stone and the narrator said that Harry had a bad feeling that Snape could read his thoughts. This is great foreshadowing for the order of the pheonix when Snape is shown to be a great occlumence! (not sure if i spelt it right... 😊)

In reference to the discussion on the use of Philosopher's Stone vs Sorcerer's Stone in the first film, I have seen both the US and UK versions, and I found the difference quite intriguing. To my eyes at least, Hermione and the boys looked a bit younger when she says"It's the PHILOSOPHER'S STONE!" than when she references the Sorcerer's Stone in the US film. Perhaps they were originally planning to film it solely with the language of the UK version, but then they went back and filmed the scene again later to avoid confusion for the US audience.

I had a lightbulb moment while listening to this podcast. I know you guys have talked about how Britian has both a children's version of the book and an adult version of the book, but for some reason it just never connected in my mind with a British TV show that I watch on Netflix. It's called The IT Crowd. In the very first episode, I believe, one of the characters, Moss, gets a package that contains both the children's version and the adult version of Harry Potter, and he says he is going to look through booth books to make sure that there are no differences. I never really got that until now, because I never really know there were two different version. Glad I now understand one more example of British pop culture!
