Order of the Phoenix Global Movie Watch & Live Show

132 Chapters, 117 episodes, and NINE MONTHS after we started Order of the Phoenix, Alohomora! is preparing to host its fifth LIVE movie viewing and call-in show! It’s been a exciting (and angsty) three quarters of a year on Order of the Phoenix, and we are so anxious to watch & discuss the film with all of our amazing listeners.

Join us on USTREAM next weekend, Saturday, January 3rd for this exciting event! We’ll begin the movie screening party at 10:00AM Eastern Time, in which you will be able to chat with some of the podcast hosts & fans from all around the world – all while watching the movie at the exact same time. Immediately following the movie, Alohomora! will be hosting a live podcast! During this time together, we’ll be chatting about the movie, analyzing the movie adaptation from the book, closing up some discussion points on Harry’s fifth year at Hogwarts, and of course, taking your calls! You can give us a ring at 206-GO-ALBUS (206-462-5287) or on Skype to AlohomoraMN.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need your own copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in order to join us for the global movie screening.

In the meantime, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook, or catch up with the latest episodes of Alohomora! by subscribing to us on iTunes (for free) right here!

Finally, I’m caught up to the point where I can watch the movie with you guys. I hope I’m on time. Do I have to sign in before hand to USTREAM? Is it free? I’ve never visited that sight, nor have I ever done any kind of live interaction like this online. Hope it works for me.

    • Michael Harle

So glad you’ll be joining us, ISeeThestrals! Make sure to use an online time converter to ensure you know when to come by (unless, of course, you’re already in Eastern Time). We’ll watch the movie first (which only features the online chat, but no live commentary from the hosts), followed by the live show afterwards.

If you do not create a login (they are free), you can still use USTREAM as a guest to watch and comment; the biggest advantage to having a login is that you will be able to make an identifying username for yourself (otherwise, USTREAM will assign you a generic username).

We’ll utilize both comments and call-in opinions as we discuss the show afterwards, but calling-in will definitely get you a better shot at having your thoughts shared with us, as the chat moves fast when we get going.

Let us know if you have any further questions, and we’ll be happy to help! Looking forward to watching the film with you! :{D

Ok. Just signed up so I could use my login name from here there, but do I also have to connect it to Facebook? And when it’s time to do this, is there a certain place I need to click on or just login and go from there, chatting in the chat box on the right-hand side? I saw a ‘go live’ button and wondered if I had to click it before I participated in the movie watch. Like I said, never done this before. I do have my own copy of the movie and the timing should line up with me living in Tx.
        Thanks for the help 🙂

As long as you are logged in, you will be good! The “go live” button is for us. You will be watching our channel, not broadcasting on your own! So as long as you are on our page, link above, and ready to go, you will be all set! There is a little instructional video before we start watching 🙂

          • ISeeThestrals

Thanks. Hope I can make it. There’s been power outages where I am. If not, enjoy everyone 🙂

      • The Half Blood Princess

Where do you listen to the call-in?

  • This is going to be my second movie watch & I am so excited! I finally sent in a recording to be on the show so I’m hoping to be on for Half-Blood Prince…these last 2 books are my favorite.

    • Silverdoe25

Last 2 books are my favorites, too! I sent in a recording as well. I felt a bit sad that there was no guest this past week. It would have been a perfect time for me to have been on. Out of school.

  • This would have been my first movie watch, all caught up with every show at last! But I’m traveling abroad now and will be missing it! (Insert sad face)

I’ve not been able to hear the past two shows now. What happened to the book wrap episode? Does that come out the same day as the movie watch and the movie watch episode comes out later?

    • Michael Harle

Fear not, we’re still doing book wrap. :{ )

  • I am so excited! I’ve been listening since the beginning but this is the first movie watch I’ve been caught up for. Just one question: Is the movie starting right at 10 EST, or will you guys give a signal or something? Thanks!

  • Jason Lawson

I have busy the last few months as a new transcriber, but I will be on Saturday morning to take part in the Global Movie Watch!

  • Wolvington

I’ve recently started listening and I’m excited for the movie watch!

  • My alarm for 4 a.m. didn’t go off and I missed it 🙁 Stupid time zones 😉

  • SlytheriNZ

It was fun, joining in for the first time (as SlytherinChina…but I won’t be in China forever, so I changed my name a little). I’m looking forward to doing more than yelling back at the speakers as I listen each week!

When will we get the movie watch episode in the app
