Ah! I agree wholeheartedly! I had to explain to people over and over why I cried when Hedwig died! I didn't cry just because she was an innocent owl that was killed. She represented everything good and pure about Harry's time in the Wizarding World. Once she died, you knew that the books were only going to get darker without that bright, white owl.

I like the sense of apreciation you have for Hedwig, it is true he's the one character who stays with Harry from the start of his safer life, right to the end, when hus safety is taken away. For Harry i imagine he symbolised the happiest years of his life. The only improvement is you could have made is to add quotes :)

Your essay was very informal and a little hard to follow but I get your point. Try structuring your essay a little better, and don't use "I" so much.

nice essay for a first time! I love the way you look at Hedwig as a friend and not just a pet. COS was when Hedwig had to be locked in her cage at the Dursleys. Harry was miserable for her. But, he almost forget her when the Weasleys came to pick him up. She let out a hoot, "don't forget me!" I wonder what would have happened if he didn't pick her up?
