This account is very interesting. I have written my own theory on the missing day which can be read on the MNFF fanfiction archives. If anyone is interested just shoot me a PM on the Alohomora forums and I'll glad you send you the link.
Ripper- The instance you are referring to in Deathly Hallows of Snape visiting Godrics Hollow only happened in the movie verision. That didn't happen in the books. It isn't true canon. Though it did play very well in the movie and though I have hated Snape throughout the book, I will admit, that Alan Rickman made me cry during A Prince's Tale.

I am going to go over this timeline again and break it down step by step and see if it stands up to closer inspection. Please don't be offended by this, it is just that I love a challenge and this presents a very intriguing one. :)

One question: Hagrid says to both McGonagall and Dumbledore that he borrowed the bike from Sirius. Why didn't either of them tell Hagrid he would have a problem returning the bike as Sirius was in Azkaban by then?
Regardless of the exact time frame, Sirius would definitely have been arrested and sent to Azkaban before they left Harry at the Dursley's, so I guess that's more of a question for JKR.

There is one event missing from this account. In Deathly Hallows during the Prince's tale it talks about Snape visiting the home and seeing Lily's body.

Great article. I just wonder what took Hagrid so long to get to the Dursley's. I guess if the magic motorbike goes as fast as a normal bike, it might take a few hours to travel across the country (depending how far Godric's Hollow is from Privet Drive).

Nice, thought out time line! I couldn't agree more with it. My only question is, how did Voldemort leave the house? It's just something I can't imagine!
