I'm a 30 year old who got in to the Potter fandom late, but am as passionate about it as anything else in my life. I started reading the Potter books thanks to the birth of my now 4 year old daughter. My wife and I thought it would be fun to read the books to each other and our daughter. Halfway through CoS I said, "I think I have to be reading this at every waking moment, so we'll have to get back to reading out load sometime later..." Since then I've consumed as much of the Potter-verse as I can and it's been absolutely wonderful.
I also credit these books with igniting a love of reading. Prior to Potter, I rarely sat down to read... anything. Since I finished the series though, I haven't stopped reading and I'll always have an extra special kind of admiration of J.K. Rowling for that.
Outside of Potter, I'm a systems engineer in my day job, I play guitar in a metal band in my night job, and I host a metal podcast called MetalsPeak in my 'whatever-time-is-left-after-being-a-grateful-father-and-husband-job" I'm also a self taught web dev code monkey. I put this Arithmancy Calculator app together and I think it turned out pretty cool: http://tryredemption.com/ac/

I'm back with more of my thoughts and questions that I had while re-reading the Harry Potter books. This time from Chapters 1 & 2 of Chamber of Secrets.
I pair up characters with magical creatures that are like them.

This is an essay I wrote for school comparing and contrasting the lives of Harry and Voldemort. It starts with their childhoods and continues until the end of the books.
